The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is right around the corner and Minnesota film critics have been busy reviewing nominees, such as “Minari” and “Nomadland.” The content produced isn’t just limited to new releases, though.

Joe Botten
For his site, Botten reviewed new releases including “I Care a Lot,” “Body Brokers,” “The Mauritanian,” “Nomadland,” “Happy Times,” “The World to Come,” “Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar,” “Rage” and “Wrong Turn.”
Brian Eggert
At Deep Focus Review, Eggert reviewed new films “Malcolm and Marie,” “One Night in Miami,” “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” “Willy’s Wonderland,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Nomadland” and “Saint Maud.”
Eggert also wrote about the 1999 comedy, “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” which takes place in Minnesota.
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
In the most recent episodes of Florence and Hafdahl’s podcast Horror Rewind, films “The Others” and “Bettlejuice” were covered.
Joseph Froemming
For the Joe-Down recently, Froemming’s review series covered “Ghost” and “Goodfellas,” both from 1990.
Kyle Goethe
Joined by fellow MNFCA member Nicholas Palodichuk, Goethe reviewed 1990’s “Metropolitan” and 1997’s “The Game” for the series Kyle and Nick on Film.
Paul McGuire Grimes
For his series Paul’s Trip to the Movies, Grimes reviewed “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Minari,” “Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar,” “The Mauritanian” and “Nomadland.”
Grimes also appeared on Twin Cities Live on Feb. 12 and 19. He also interviewed “Nomadland” director Chloe Zhao.
Eric Houston
Last week Houston produced a video about the history of Hanna-Barbera animation.
Jeremy Lebens
For his site The Daily Rotation, Lebens reviewed new releases “Palmer,” “Our Friend” and “Judas and the Black Messiah.”
Matthew Liedke
For his site, Liedke reviewed new releases “Bliss,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Minari,” “I Care a Lot” and “Nomadland,” as well as last fall’s animated feature “Over the Moon.”
Ruth Maramis
For FlixChatter, Maramis reviewed “Sylvie’s Love,” “I Care a Lot” and “Nomadland.”
Maramis also continued her Thursday Movie Picks series, writing about romance films such as 2010’s “Never Let Me Go,” 2016’s “Loving,” and “Suite Francaise” in one post, as well as 1996’s “Emma,” 1999’s “Mansfield Park” and 2019’s “Always be my Maybe” in another.
Additionally, Maramis recommended 10 non-English romance films for Valentine’s weekend.
Mark McPherson
For his site, McPherson reviewed new releases “Nomadland,” Bliss,” “Malcolm & Marie” and “Flora & Ulysses.” Additionally, at Twin Cities Geek, McPherson wrote about the new film “Land.”
