The Academy Awards are in the rear view and several MNFCA members wrote out their thoughts on the results of this year’s ceremony.
Along with Oscar recaps, MNFCA members reviewed new films like “Mortal Kombat” an “Together Together” recently. Check out what the Alliance has been up to lately.
Joe Botten
At his site, Botten reviewed new releases including “Mortal Kombat,” “Wildcat,” “Together Together,” “Things Heard and Seen,” “Land,” “French Exit,” “The Father,” “Without Remorse,” “Limbo,” “The Mitchells Vs. The Machines,” “The Virtuoso,” “Golden Arm,” “Four Good Days” and “Threshold.”
Additionally, Botten wrote his thoughts on the Oscar nominated short documentaries, animated and live films.
Brian Eggert
For his site Deep Focus Review, Eggert reviewed new films “Stowaway” and “Cliff Walkers.” Additionally, Eggert wrote about the 1997 film “Perfect Blue” and 1991’s “Defending Your Life.”
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
For Horror Rewind, Florence and Hafdahl are celebrating their podcast’s four year anniversary. On recent episodes, they talked about George A. Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead” and Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead 2.”
Hunter Friesen

Paul McGuire Grimes
In the last two weeks, Grimes reviewed “Mortal Kombat,” “Without Remorse” and “Four Good Days” for his Paul’s Trip to the Movies series. Grimes also spoke with the casts of “Without Remorse” and “Four Good Days.”
Additionally, Grimes appeared on the April 30 episode of Twin Cities Live.
Eric Houston
As part of his Bad Movie Bros series, Houston reviewed 1991’s “Karate Cop,” 1988’s “Black Eagle” and 1998’s “Shrunken City.”
Melinda Lavine
