More films are opening in theaters, with two big releases this past weekend, and the MNFCA is covering it. As usual, the Alliance didn’t just focus on new movies, though.
Here’s what the Alliance has been up to lately.
Joe Botten
For his site, Botten reviewed “Army of the Dead,” “Dementia: Part II,” “Dream Horse,” “Sound of Violence,” “Seance,” “Last Night in Soho,” “Cruella,” “Blue Miracle,” “A Quiet Place II,” “Port Authority” and “Launchpad.”
Brian Eggert
At Deep Focus Review, Eggert reviewed new films “Army of the Dead,” “The Killing of Two Lovers,” “Wrath of Man” and “The Amusement Park.” Eggert also wrote about 1944’s “Laura.”
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
On the Horror Rewind podcast, Florence and Hafdahl reviewed the new “Saw” film “Spiral” and 1974’s classic “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.”
Joseph Froemming
For the Joe-Down series, Froemming reviewed the 1974 film “Zardoz” and 1984’s “Splash.”
Kyle Goethe
At his site, Goethe reviewed the 2020 Pixar film “Onward.” Additionally, for the series Kyle and Nick on Film, Goethe was joined by fellow MNFCA member Nicholas Palodichuk to talk about “The Silence of the Lambs,” “What About Bob,” “Scissors” and “The Last Boy Scout.”
Paul McGuire Grimes
For his Paul’s Trip to the Movies series, Grimes reviewed “Dream Horse,” “Cruella, “A Quiet Place II” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” Grimes also appeared on the May 21 and 28 episodes of Twin Cities Live.
Jeremy Lebens
At The Daily Rotation, Lebens reviewed new releases “The Dry” and “A Quiet Place II.”
Frank Lee
For the Brainerd Dispatch, Lee reviewed the “Saw” sequel “Spiral.”
Matthew Liedke
At his site, Liedke reviewed “Together Together,” “The Woman in the Window,” “Spiral,” “Those Who Wish Me Dead,” “Army of the Dead,” “Cruella” and “A Quiet Place II.” Liedke also wrote about 1982’s “Koyaanisqatsi” for the Large Association of Movie Blogs’ Movie of the Month.
Ruth Maramis
At FlixChatter, Maramis wrote about “Riders of Justice” and “Cruella.” For the 25th anniversary of the series, Maramis also ranked the “Mission: Impossible” films.
Mark McPherson
For his site, McPherson reviewed “A Quiet Place II” and “Cruella.”
Nicholas Palodichuk
For the St. Paul Filmcast, Palodichuk spoke with actor Brian Cristofono and writer/director Alicia Shenreice.
