MNFCA’s look back at 2021

The year 2021 is in the rear-view, but before letting it go, members of the Minnesota Film Critics Alliance had quite a bit to say.

From top 10s to top 20s, MNFCA members ranked their favorite films released in 2021, including plenty of honorable mentions along the way. A few even noted some of the worst 2021 had to offer in cinema.

Sean Blanford

At his site MovieBirb, Blanford ranked his 20 favorite films of 2021.

Joe Botten

On his site, Botten published a post listing the best and worst movies from the last year.

Brian Eggert

Eggert published a top 10 list for 2021 at his site Deep Focus Review.

Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl

On the Horror Rewind podcast, Florence and Hafdahl did a year end wrap up episode, discussing their favorite movies and books from 2021.

Hunter Friesen

For the Northern Iowan, Friesen wrote about his ten best films from 2021.

Kyle Goethe

On his site, Goethe published two pieces about the top ten films from 2021 and the worst movies of the year. Goethe also guest hosted an episode of the St. Paul Filmcast, where he discussed the best movies of the year with Eggert.

Paul McGuire Grimes

Grimes released his top 10 of the year for his series, Paul’s Trip to the Movies.

Matthew Liedke

At his site, Liedke published a top 10 list for 2021 and a worst of the year list.

Ruth Maramis

On FlixChatter Maramis listed her top 10 films from 2021 and 15 honorable mentions.

Mark McPherson

McPherson ranked his top 10 films of 2021 at his site Movies with Mark.
