More reviews on the latest Marvel film have poured in from critics across Minnesota, with a variety of opinions on the new picture.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” wasn’t the only movie under review recently, though. Smaller pictures such as “Marcel the Shel with Shoes On” and “Where the Crawdads Sing” were also covered in recent weeks.
Here’s what the Alliance has been up to lately.
Joe Botten
At his site, Botten reviewed new films “Dreaming Walls,” “The Sea Beast,” “Where the Crawdads Sing,” “Don’t Make Me Go,” “Gone in the Night,” “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris,” “Persuasion,” “She Will” and “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.”
Brian Eggert
On Deep Focus Review, Eggert reviewed new releases “Both Sides of the Blade,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris,” “Where the “Crawdads Sing” and “The Gray Man.” He also wrote about 1980’s “Raging Bull.”
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
On the Horror Rewind podcast, Florence and Hafdahl continued their look at the fourth season of “Stranger Things” and also discussed the film “Malevolent.”
Joseph Froemming
For his Joe-Down series, Froemming wrote about 1997’s “Air Bud” and 1999’s “For the Love of the Game.”
Kyle Goethe and Nicholas Palodichuk
For their series Kyle and Nick on Film, the duo talked about 1942’s “This Gun for Hire,” 1955’s “The Big Combo,” 1972’s “Frenzy,” 1999’s “The Thirteenth Floor,” 2003’s “High Tension” and 2017’s “Get Out.”
Paul McGuire Grimes
For his series Paul’s Trip to the Movies, Grimes reviewed “Persuasion” and “Where the Crawdads Sing.” He also appeared on the July 15 episode of Twin Cities Live.
Matt Hambidge
