New releases continue to be on a mixed distribution pattern with some, like “Gunpowder Milkshake” and the “Fear Street” trilogy coming out on Netflix, and others such as the thriller “Old” opening in theaters. Those movies and many more were all reviewed by members of the MNFCA.
Here’s what the Alliance has been up to lately.
Joe Botten
For his site, Botten reviewed new releases “Gunpowder Milkshake,” “Fear Street Part 3,” “Roadrunner: A Film about Anthony Bourdain,” “Great White,” “Pig,” “Midnight in the Switchgrass,” “Ailey,” “Here After,” “Broken Diamonds,” “The Last Letter From your Lover,” “Joe Bell,” “Blood Red Sky,” “Old,” “Val” and “Jungle Cruise.”
Brian Eggert
At Deep Focus Review, Eggert reviewed “The Sparks Brothers,” “A Quiet Place Part II,” “Old” and “The Forever Purge.” Eggert also wrote about 2005’s “Land of the Dead” and 1970’s “Five Easy Pieces.”
Nicholas Erickson
For his YouTube channel, Erickson produced a video ranking the MCU films, movies by Steven Speilberg and features from Walt Disney Animation.
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
On the Horror Rewind podcast, Florence and Hafdahl discussed the Netflix “Fear Street” trilogy and the Shudder film “Caveat.”
Joseph Froemming
For his Joe-Down series, Froemming reviewed the 1980 comedy “Caddyshack.”
Kyle Goethe
For the series Kyle and Nick on Film, Goethe was joined by fellow MNFCA member Nicholas Palodichuk for reviews on 1987’s “Spaceballs,” 2020’s “Nomadland,” 1983’s “Strange Brew” and 1980’s “The Elephant Man.”
Paul McGuire Grimes
Grimes reviewed “Fear Street Part 3,” “Joe Bell,” “The Last Letter from your Lover” and “Old” for his Pauls Trip to the Movies series. Grimes also appeared on the July 16 and 23 episodes of Twin Cities Live.
Jeremy Lebens
On The Daily Rotation, Lebens reviewed the thrillers “Escape Room: Tournament of Champions” and “Old.”
Frank Lee
For the Brainerd Dispatch, Lee wrote a review on the animated “Boss Baby” sequel and another for the new thriller “Old.”
Matthew Liedke
At his site, Liedke reviewed new releases “Escape Room: Tournament of Champions,” “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” “Old,” “Snake Eyes” and “Gunpowder Milkshake.”
Ruth Maramis
